Heavy Pages To Turn

The pain is still inside of her

In spite of the glowing of her gorgeous smile

Her personality can light up a room

Though misery has remained in her for a while

There's a past that she carries

Unwilling to share with but a few

Embarrassed, she's hesitant to mention them

These times of physical and mental abuse

Still blaming herself for these long ago moments

Difficult pages that are hard to turn

They're continuous fires it seems

Even water can't extinguish these slow burns

The few who know her pain will question

Will she ever smile in the inside

Hopefully her life will continue to go on

And the pages that are her pain will turn into ashes in due time
