Terrible Time For The Acid Tongue

Soothing words are needed during these moments
The hurt runs deeper than the outsider realizes
Chastising isn't welcomed into the ears of the hurting
A gentle voice, they'd gladly embrace

Knowing what's going on, sometimes keeps the acid tongue closed
So many are eager to give their opinion
What they call tough love, isn't always agreed with
No one should be too stubborn to try a different way

Some degrees of suffering, can't even be seen with the Hubble telescope
We can't always probe the ones who are bawling on the inside
Taking time to learn, if they're willing to teach
Maybe they'll be receptive to words, if the tongue is like a feather
